OK chaps/chappesses.

Back in 1986 I trained a platoon of raw REME recruits. The platoon was 31 Platoon. A young soldier, then eighteen years of age, suffered my tender ministrations for a couple of months, and as a 39 year old man has now come back to haunt me!

He is now in civvy strasse, married, and has a son serving in the Welsh Guards, currently in Bosnia, (trooping the Colour in London very soon) and two daughters.

Anyway, he and his family are emigrating to Oz near the end of July. They are settling in Albury, NSW. He's told me there is a RAEME unit nearby at Bandiana, Victoria and would like to know if there is a RAEME Association or something similar.

Any info, Collo, Gun Bunny, Airborne?

They have an online email style contact page (under "contact us"). They also have a snail mail addy.

No worries mate.

What I also forgot to mention was that he can also contact his RSL sub-branch. I am sure they will welcome him with open arms. This is the RSL NSW link:

http://www.rslnsw.com.au/

Like the RAEME link, the link is apart of the national RSL org.
