Kurt has been a long time dear friend of mine, and has been one of the greatest men I have known. I regret to inform you after a very long battle with cancer, he is tired and coming to the end of his life.

Many will not know him, but he was one of the very first members of Allied Forces.com before we became MGAF. He is a MGAFer as well, but became too ill to be apart of this forum.

I have received an email from his wife ....

This is Kurt's wife Virginia here. Kurt showed me this list of contacts and told me that when the time came, these would be the ones to notify. Although Kurt hasn't made his transition yet, it is expected to be very soon. He is surrounded by his family and he is in his own home being kept comfortable and pain free. I feel blessed that I am able to abide by his wishes.  This is what he wanted, someone to offer support and comfort to me, which I have and for him to die in his own bed. He took a sudden sharp turn for the worse last week and has had a steady decline since then. He fought a brave fight and he was tired.

Respectfully,
Virginia Gerber

Here's to us and those like us. Damn few. And they're all dead.

A Psalm of David.
The LORD is my shepherd,  I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures;  He leads me beside quiet waters.
He restores my soul;  He guides me in the paths of righteousness  For His name?s sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,  I fear no evil, for You are with me;  Your rod and Your staff,  they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;  You have anointed my head with oil;  My cup overflows.
Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life,
And I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

Well done Mate,

you fought the good fight and you did it well.

Rest easy, knowing that your red cross was seen and aid recieved by many, at times at  great cost to yourself.

Blessed are the peacemakers.

I wish you smooth seas and gentle winds to help your journey.

And all my sympathy to your family.

RIP sniper

Kurt made his transition without pain or struggle of any kind on Saturday morning 10:32 AM April 12. He just peacefully slipped away surrounded by those who loved him the most.

From his beautiful wife Virginia, she emailed me today.
