A young Australian couple went on a holiday to Britain and eventually arrived in Edinburgh, Scotland. As they were walking along the main street they were arguing about how the name of the city should be pronounced. The male insisted on Ed-in-boog. The female said, “No, it’s Ed-in-burer.”
To find out the correct pronunciation, they decided to pop into a fast food place and ask one of the staff. Walking up to the counter they asked a girl, “How do you say the name of this place?” The girl at the counter, with a rather puzzled look on her face said, “Mac-don-alds.”
