Thats what I thought and this soldier is a woman. But I am looking into it at the minute, but I would hate to label someone and be wrong

There are no Australian medals for The cold war nor for Ocean crossings   ever awarded for any wars......

The name is listed as an American service person would be , as an Australian would be  eg:;  Smith,  B,S,

The Cross of Gallentry would have meant that they either served in 8 RAR, the AATTV, or as of last week D coy 6 RAR  ;;;;;;all male only postings.
